What Is A Newsworthy News Release?

A News Release is an announcement of timely information about a new product or service, a business expansion or recent event, an organizational milestone like an anniversary or award. Timeliness and relevance are also factors to consider, but it is important the content NOT come over like a sales letter, so there has to be a ‘news’ angle.

How Long Will The News Release Be?

Generally between 300-800 words, though it’s important to remember that anything under 450 words won’t be picked up by Google News. Don’t worry, we’ll write it for you but we will require enough information from you to be able to create a decent length piece.

How Long Does It Take To Get A News Release Syndicated?

We will create the News Release for you as soon as possible once you have provided us with all the information we request (which is usually a quote and a photo, but may in certain circumstances be a little more). The News Releases are then reviewed by our Editor within 24 hours on Mondays through Fridays, excluding holidays. Once the release is approved by our Editors, it will be sent for syndication. It will then be distributed and once that process has completed you will receive a distribution report.

The entire process normally takes just 3-4 days.

Where Will My News Release Be Displayed?

We provide you with a detailed report with live links on hundreds of newspaper, radio, and TV news websites

How Long Will My News Release Be Available Online?

There are no guarantees as to how long your release will be available on any specific media site in our distribution network.

We’ve found that releases are generally available for at least 30 days, and 60 days to a year is not unusual, however each news aggregator sets its own schedule for purging releases from their system.  Your release will remain on our syndication partner site indefinitely.

Why Doesn’t My Image Appear On All Of The Sites In The Distribution Report?

This is not a rejection of your individual image. Some news aggregators opt not to publish any images through their system.

Why Doesn’t My Distribution Report Include Every Site That Has Published My Release?

Many websites republish our news directly from our RSS feeds as well as the sites in our distribution network. Only the media outlets that participate in our tracking system are included in the report.

Can I Display Media Logos On My Website Once The Release Is Published?

Each media outlet has it’s own terms of service regarding usage of trademarks and images, including logos. While it is a common practice to use media outlet logos with statements like “as seen on” “as quoted on” etc, since we don’t hold the rights to the images, we are not authorized to grant permission to use the actual logo images on your site or in your marketing.

You’ll notice that even on this site we obscure the logos so as not to infringe any copyright. Feel free to check with the individual operators of those sites if you’d like or check their terms on the website in question.
